Kannapolis, NC - 3 first half goals by Broncos FC proved too much of a hill to climb this past Saturday in UPSL play. The Savannah Clovers were defeated by the Broncos on the road by the score of 3 to 1. The Broncos move onto 5 place with 10 points on the season. The Clovers remain in 3rd place with 15 points, 1 point ahead of 4th place Atlanta Allstars. The Broncos scored 2 goals from the run of play and another from a set piece. The Clovers regrouped in the second half, possessing the ball better and creating chances. The attacks and chances came frequently but the Clovers could not convert on the many opportunities. The breakthrough came late in the game when Miguel Lopez scored on an individual effort, affording the Clovers a consolation goal. The Clovers will be back on the road this Sunday as they take on FC Cardinals of Winston-Salem.

The Savannah Clovers return home on June 23 as we take on C-Ville FC and host our second annual food drive, Kick Hunger 2! Fans and supporters are encouraged to bring a non perishable food item to benefit America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. Tickets are currently available.
