Fayetteville, NC - A Jay DeAlmedia brace led the Savannah Clovers to a 1-3 road victory against Bragg FC on Sunday. The Clovers got off to a shaky start, giving up an early goal to Bragg FC and losing forward Henry Bane to a hamstring injury that will keep him out for 2 weeks. Timo Mesa played the role of super sub to settle the Clovers midfield and gain control of the game. It wasn't long before Jay DeAlmedia scored the first of his two goals, sparking the comeback for the Clovers. Magnus O'Gorman's run down the left flank resulted in the second Clovers goal of the first half. The chippy affair didn't break the Square City Club's focus in the second half, breaking up Bragg FC's attack and scoring a late goal after the 70th minute. The win moves the Clovers onto 6 points with a +4 goal differential before the Easter break. Be sure to join the Savannah Clovers for their next UPSL Home game on April, 7 at Floyd E. Morris field. The Clovers will take on Broncos FC, Kickoff is scheduled for 5pm. Single Game Tickets are now available.
