Greenville Football Club to host the Savannah Clovers

Savannah, Ga - The Savannah Clovers are set to take on one of the newest National Premier Soccer League Clubs in the Southeast Conference. Greenville FC will play host to the Clovers in a Spring friendly scheduled for May 16th. This will be the first meeting between the two clubs and the 5th friendly between the Clovers and NPSL clubs. The NPSL represents the 4th Tier of US Soccer and boast over 90 clubs competing in 4 regions around the United States.

The May 16th match will take place at Eugene Stone Stadium on the campus of Furman University. Kick is scheduled for 7:00pm. 

 

About Savannah Clovers: Derived from First City Supporters, Savannah Clovers Football Club was founded on June 23, 2016 as an amateur soccer club. Operating as a Non-profit, we hope to engage players, fans and local businesses in an effort to give back to our community. In Spring of 2018, the Savannah Clovers will compete in the newly formed UPSL Southeast Conference. Formed in 2011, the UPSL is a sanctioned 5th division soccer league.

Savannah Clovers to join the UPSL in 2018

Bringing league soccer to the City of Savannah has been one of our priorities since the club's founding back in June of 2016. With that, the Savannah Clovers are proud to announce we will be joining the United Premier Soccer League in 2018. The UPSL operates as a sanctioned 5th division league under the United States Soccer Federation. With over 70 clubs nationwide, the UPSL is divided into 5 regional conferences to help clubs maintain travel costs. The Savannah Clovers will be competing in the newly minted Southeast Conference along side Lowcountry United of Charleston, South Carolina.

ABOUT THE UPSL: The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) was formed in Los Angeles in 2011 with the goal of providing a competitive league platform for players seeking to play at higher levels. Today the league is the fastest-growing of its kind in the United States. From an inaugural slate of 10 clubs in Southern California, the UPSL has grown to feature over 70 men’s teams in California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Colorado. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining UPSL minimum standards.
